We woke to have lunch and change into a new, yet simple attire to a nearby temple first. After which, we came back and rest before we proceed to our big aunt house to 拜年. This was when the whole Lim family don our new and best attire to our aunt house. I got to wear my favourite colour dress and wedges for a new start! This year am trying to wear wedges as a baby step to heels.
The vegetarian buffet at my aunt's house wasn't that fantastic for this year. Hence we straight away went to stuff our stomach with the pan of fired nuggets and chicken wings!
This year, I no longer hide in the quiet corner of my aunt's bungalow to study! I made the effort to went around and mingle with my relatives! Through this, it sort of struck me that I know very little about them and that in future, I should all the more make this effort to talk to them in future family gatherings!
Waited for the clock to strike 11pm and all the cousins and I went off to watch midnight movie! We utilised two cars for this cousins gathering. So cool right! There was a little bit of car racing between the two cars on the road but safety was still the priority! It was a run car journey to the amk Cathay!
The box office was expectedly crowded as it was a public holiday. Luckily my brother and I already went down to the box office days ago to purchase them already. As we had quite some spare time, we decided to queue and redeem our free popcorn and purchase some drinks and snacks from the counter. As there were 11 of us, we spent a long time purchasing at the counter until someone behind us became unpatient and purposely exclaimed quite loudly that we were trying to buy the whole cinema. hahas... new year happy mood so we can't be bothered by their remarks and this was also the first time that so many of us(cousins) turn for this gathering!
It was really cool that we got to occupy one whole row of seats in the theatre! Initially wanted the couple seats but there was an odd number of us so have to purchase the normal seatings.
Dance Dance Dragon it's a really funny and crappy show. Throughout the filming, the whole theatre was filled with laughters.
After the movie, we decided to hang out at the mac for supper. It was really a hearty meal as this was the first time that so many of us got to sit down together and have a chit chat session. It was a very fulfilling moment especially for me as the organiser of this cousin outings. It encouraged me to organise even more future cousins gatherings!
As we parted, my siblings and I drove our car back while the rest of the nine cousins took the big toyota wish back as most of them stay in the ang mo kio area.
It was indeed a wonderful new year spent so far in my life! Hoping that next year will be even better! Now, off to bed to recharge before hosting my relatives tomorrow!
