Day 2-finland

My tutor (from Iran) arranged to have another lunch session together with another tutee of hers.

Thereafter, she was so nice as to bring me to the nearest small town in Espoo, called Tapiola for setting a bank account, apply for student travel card. There's H&M, subway in that small town.

Then she was so nice to also bring me to the recycle center to buy second hand goods such as the heater and the lamp. heater was needed as it gets super cold at night and the heater in my room wasn't turn on. hahas... Chris was right not to hold my hopes too high! haiz... but the second hand heater cost me just 5 euros. reasonable as it is going to keep me warm in the middle of the night for a goodnight sleep for the 4 months here in finland.

bought a table lamp from there for just 2.5 euros. hahas... come here if can save i really save. can't really anyhow spend like i did in Singapore.

Then bought some rags, cups for just a few cents only. hahas... and oh ya, fins here are rather green.. they don't give out plastic bags for free... there are in fact more strict than Taiwan. all shops that i went to over here, don't give out plastic bags for free. we need to carry a recycle bag with us whenever we go out in order to avoid paying additional cost for the plastic bags.

in school, in this hostel, there is no common black bin along our corridor. we have to carry our rubbish a long way to the entrance of the hostel to sort and throw our rubbish. in ntu, when we want to throw any smelly or bulky items, we often left it in the black bin in the corridors of each level. for here, no! we need to walk all the way out for that one and only rubbish bin. very troublesome indeed!

Oh, with heater, i sleep well into the night now :)
