Christmas Eve

It all started yesterday evening.

Met "a few" of 201 people to go shopping for bbq food and stuff. sad to say, none of us there had any experience of buying bbq stuff. i guess we've relied to much on Chris for such event. but then, after yst experience, i learnt how to shop around for bbq stuff in yishun area. heex.

so first step, we took the trolley outside ntuc. i was very surprised when one of them do not know how to pluck out the trolley from the chain. hahas... basically, you just put a one dollar coin into the slot and then the lock will be open. LOL!

Then the unprofessionals pushed the trolley around the ntuc aimlessly. Our first stop was the frozen food section. we didn't even know which brand of hot dog to go for. then i remembered that Chris wanted the oyster mushroon and the button mushrooms. hence we decided to go to the vegetable section. the few of us were super noob. it took jie min and I a long time to figure out where the button mushrooms were placed. then this potato and sweet potato caught my eye. i stupidly took the 2 potatoes and sweet potatoes and put them inside the trolley. not knowing that i need to pass to the ntuc staff to package and weigh it first, until jie min posed this question naively. =X

We were really like wanderers inside the ntuc. was anyhow walking inside it. then there's this group of youths whom i think were also preparing for their bbq too. i saw from one of the teenage girls that she was actually holding a list of bbq stuff in her hand. that was very organised of her. but then the irony was, they came to our trolley, flipped our staffs and i overheard their conversation. hahas.. seems like one of them like one of our materials inside the trolley and were discussing if they should buy it.

finally, we managed to complete this task and then we went to Sheng Siong to buy the metal wire gauze and barcadi. After which i suggested that Jovin and Jon push the ntuc trolley with all our barang barang inside it to the reservoir, while i went back home to take the marinated chickens.

i guess we were kind of lucky that day. it's actually an offence to push the ntuc trolley to such a far place. fortunately we weren't caught. hahas. but then the trolley was very useful for us throughout the bbq session. it had make our place tidier.

Our fire starter for that day was Jovin! Big thanks to him for sacrificing his hands to do the dirty job. hahas. in the end we managed to get the fire and started bbq-ing our food.

the scenery of the reservoir at night was super fantastic. it was the first time for me to be there at night time. but then the very disturbing part would be the ants! they were like colonies and attacked our feets in large group. most of us had to tahan it and it was super painful.

So we bbq till 1 plus in the morning. my initial plan was to "taunt" the whole night but ya, my priority must be right. had to get up the next morning for x'mas service. so am very sorry guys, though i daresay am very tempted to stay over night till morning =X

on the whole it's quite a good time for me to do some catch up and i enjoyed myself a lot that day. thanks guys for coming and make this event possible. =)
