Singapore Polytechnic Flag Day in support of the president's challenge

Saw John at novena mrt station today, he was on his way to yj. if he hadn't called me, i wouldn't have seen him, was feeling too sleepy.=X
Then Rahman, our class rep counted the number of people in our class.
Short of one and we were late by fifteen minutes. was to report to our tutor by 7.00 am
then one guy in our class gave attitude, said it's already so let then we happily let the tutor wait. piang! that boy was good looking, but the moment he opened his mouth all his image were spoilt @_@

anyway, was really kind of late. so we went to the desinated location around novena area without the last boy.

i must thank the school for giving us such a deserted place. wah, gave us a whole stretch of thomson road with few people. then the class was also kind of shocked and sian. wanted to go neat united square but two class were already there.

i partnered up with jolene. not five minutes passed and i already cannot stand it! i took her with me to khatib area.

oh yeah, in the train there was this generous american man who donated to me initiatively without me asking. then he joking asked why i didn't ask for donation. i guess my reply was kind of serious caused i replied saying we weren't suppose to asked in the train. his wife, i guess a singaporean quickly added that his husband was joking and said americans like to joke. =)

once at khatib, i brought jolene to a walkway where is was busted with the morning crowd. i went to the other side, near the bridge area. however, people near the bridge were like kind of rushing for the morning train. so i loitered near the bus stop. then i happened to see this nurse who seemed lost in the area. wanted to approach her for donation but she asked me how to get to chung cheng high yishun. she was suppose to go there and conduct a medical check up for the students there. so i brought her to the area. on the way, she donated a generous two bucks note to me =D

i decided to stand at the traffic junction near khatib mrt station. wow, the crowd was so incredible! in a short one hour, i've used up one page of stickers. some publics were very initiative. they already got ready their coins to donate to us while some just shun us so far by taking a big de tour. hey, must they be so extreme? hah, soon get used to such people.
okies, after that i crossed the bridge to go to the other area. the walkway with the big ades mosquitoe on it de. wow, i can say this is the easiest place to ask people for donation. heartlanders were very generous i must say, especially those aunties and uncles going to the market or coffee. in three hours time, i finished all my three pages of stickers le. hee, pro mah?! hahas... first time do flag day so successful leh! maybe few sp students knew got khatib this area bahs =X oh ya, some curious donar asked why it is on this day and not on week end de. i can only smile at them cause i don't know how to answer them.

Some bad moments or discouragements....

there's one uncle who seemed quite pissed off with the wording formation on the donation tins. he complained that the tins looked like it is indicating the donation proceeds to sp fund instead of president's challenge. then grumbling grumbling, he still managed to donate to the tins. afterall, still okie.

See the above image?
on the fourth line, it is printed so smally that SP is
helping the president's challenge.

then there's this uncle in red shirt, he's super mean! he walked past me first time and gestured that he don't want to donate. then the second time he walked past me, he said in mandarin,"eh, no need sell this kind of stickers lah. no use de. don't sell don't sell."

i felt so pai seh and discouraged after his words.

MEAN!
moments later, a kind soul donated to me and gradually, i forget that mean uncle as more approach me to donate.

Cute moments...
an auntie came up to me and said also in mandarin jokingly after i explained to her we were doing for president's challenge, " huh, president set up this charity organisation de arh? then why still ask us to donate? govt got enough money to help them de lah." but still , she donated. =)

one ah ma said she no coins, but after buying groceries from the market, she happily showed me her coins and put them in my tin. nice soul. =D

there's this middle age man, who just bought a lottery ticket. he approached us and donated. so i wished him that lady luck wil shine on him and he'll strike top prize. that man cutely replied," yes, if i struck, i'll definitely remember you." lol!

"ASK, AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN"

I strongly believed in this verse from the bible. actually there are many kind souls who are willing to donate to us but on one condition, that we must open our mouth first. actually, i also belong to this category too =X

yup, this verse was further reaffirmed when i asked a lady for donation. she said she gave me cause i asked her =))

met some of my mum friends. may of them were surprise then i transfer to sp. but they all gave me best wishes after that. nice aunties =) hey hey, it is true my mum has a wide net work of aunties in this neighbourhood!

waited for jolene to finish her stickers and we proceed back to sp for lunch and counting of our own money that we've raised.

i guess at food court 4, we were the noisiest bah. hahas... we partically laughing throughout the whole lunch session. i didn't know jolene can be so lame and fun too! muahaha..finally know her true self.

then went to find our tutor. he's also a funny person. jolene also suan him but he played along too. cool! seldom see teacher act this way de. hahas...he's like any heartland uncle like that =X
okies, so we went to a classroom to count our own donations. hee... so far, the only two girls are the most efficient in the class. ta dang! jolene collected $109 while i collected $89.61. hehe..the guys collect roughly round $20 ++ nia.. silly guys, they should just move on to other areas instead of complaining that novena was very deserted =X

This is the tee shirt that we need to wear for today's flag day =D

See, the weather is just that hot! am sun burnt! hahas.

suppose to have this night party for the year one. but i was too tired to join them le. so went off to find my mum at her work place. hope the rest are having fun in the party now =)

As for yesterday, i didn't went to school. the school has no programmes for us. tomorrow is another rest day before school starts on monday.
can't wait to see u guys again! =D
